Episode 47 – The Forest City Comicon

This week on our show, we talk about comic picks of the week, some comics news, and we feature two very special guests, London author Ryan McFadden and London graphic novelist Diana Tamblyn.

Sequential Fiction is brought to you this week by All New Comics – Canada’s largest online comic book superstore.  All New Comics has been in business for more than a decade, and they have pioneered getting your comics to you in Canada.  Check them out online at AllNewComics.com

How to follow Sequential Fiction:

Brian and Liam’s Comic Picks of the Week:

Brian’s Pick:  Flashpoint 1-5

Flashpoint was written by Geoff Johns and pencilled by Andy Kubert. In its end, the series radically changes the status quo for the DC Universe leading into the publisher’s 2011 relaunch, the New 52.

The world is much darker, and way more dangerous. Cyborg is basically this world’s Superman. Wonder Woman and Aquaman are at war.  Superman is held without sunlight in an underground bunker, and the Status Quo of Batman is much different.

Liam’s Pick: Runaways Volume 1 – Pride and Joy

Collects Runaways (2003) #1-6.
When six friends discover their parents are all secretly super-villains, they run away from home and straight into the adventure of their lives — vowing to turn the tables on their evil legacy.

Cover Story 1 – Ryan T. McFadden

Our first guest is a four time Aurora Award Winner, and his latest novel – Cursed: Black Swan – A Fixer Novel is available at finer book stores and ebook purveyors worldwide!

Cover Story 2 – Diana Tamblyn

Our second guest on the show is a Joe Shuster and Ignatz-nominated cartoonist who has been writing and drawing cartoons since the late nineties. She’s exhibited her work at small press fairs in Canada and the US, and has had her artwork displayed at various group and solo shows, including at the show she co-founded, the Ting Comics and Graphic Arts Festival.

In 2013 she released “From the Earth to Babylon, The Story of Gerald Bull and the Super Gun”, and she is currently working on volume two.
